Abstract—We present in this paper an overview of the slot
harmonic frequency detection applied to the broken rotor bars
faults diagnosis This technique uses the behavior of the current
spectral analysis and the estimation of the rotor slot harmonic to
detect broken rotor bars in three phase induction machine.
Experimental tests performed with broken rotor bars show the
effectiveness and merits of the proposed technique.
Keywords—Squirrel cage motor; diagnosis; broken bars faults; current spectral analysis; slots harmonic.
CONCLUSION
In this paper a proposed broken bars fault detection applied
to a squirrel cage induction motor using stator current spectrum
is discussed. This approach has as a main task the broken bars
fault identification with fault severity assessment. The task is
achieved by an early knowledge of the Rotor Slot Harmonic
SRH frequency fsh necessary for CHF frequencies
computation. Experimental tests performed on different rotor
bars fault show the effectiveness and merits of the proposed technique.
